Dr. Katie Rodan's and Dr. Kathy Fields' Abstract on Patent-Pending RFp3 Technology Selected for Publication
at the American Academy of Dermatology's 2011 Annual Meeting
San Francisco, Calif. — February 8, 2011 — The scientific research that validates Rodan + Fields RFp3 technology was selected for publication and presentation at the American Academy of Dermatology's (Academy) 69th Annual Meeting held in New Orleans from February 4-8, 2011.
The poster, entitled "Down-regulation of Cathelicidin Activity for Management of Rosacea-related Symptoms and Hyperirritable Skin," featured a discussion of Rodan + Fields exclusive RFp3 technology in relation to rosacea and sensitive skin. RFp3 patent-pending technology interrupts or dampens down the multiple chemical reactions that lead to inflammation in the skin and, in doing so, diminishes the redness and discomfort associated with rosacea or other sensitive skin conditions. The platform technology is comprised of two skin-signaling peptides, coupled with a targeted protease inhibitor that works synergistically with the peptides and skin's natural processes to improve skin resiliency to inflammatory triggers, brighten complexion and prolong treatment benefits. RFp3 technology can be found in Rodan + Fields SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment and ENHANCEMENTS Mineral Peptides.
"We are thrilled to be sharing our research at the Academy's Annual Meeting," said Dr. Rodan. "This further validates our science and the extraordinary results we've seen in our clinical studies," continued Dr. Fields.
The poster was co-authored by Lori Bush, President and General Manager of Rodan + Fields and Drs. Timothy Falla and Lijuan Zhang of Helix Biomedix, Inc., an industry leader in bioactive peptide research.
